The lived experience of nursing students caring for COVID-19 patients

Background and objective: As the wave of COVID-19 pandemic hit world, schools students were affected in many ways. Schools had to migrate courses an online or hybrid platform while adapt their learning take care patients clinical setting. Caring for hospital setting provided with big challenges, it became essential faculty members understand students’ feelings obstacles as semester continued.Methods: Utilizing a phenomenological framework, qualitative descriptive study was performed determine lived experience student nurses caring patients.Results: Four main themes emerged from study, which included 1) Importance support system, 2) Moral distress, 3) Enhancement skills, 4) Significance therapeutic communication.Conclusions: Based on themes, four recommendations identified help faculty, The value simulation, Development Collaborative preceptorship, Preparation new era.
